Filmmaker Bio

Kochmer is an actor/writer/director with a background in experimental theater, mentored under Elizabeth Swados at LaMama Theatre after graduating from Marymount Manhattan College. His published plays can be found at Indie Theater Now, and upon  relocating to LA he produced and starred in avant garde filmmaker George Landow’s film DIALOGUES (2009). He has acted in over 30 feature and short films, including intense supporting roles in the films I’M NOT HERE, and VIRGINITY (premiered at The Boston International Film Festival), as well as starring in the crime thriller WHITE RABBIT (Cinequest, Vision Award Winner). 

Kochmer’s directorial feature film debut WAY DOWN IN CHINATOWN (WMMFest) found distribution through 366WeirdMovies and Amazon. He also directed a segment of the dramatic series STRIPPING SHAKESPEARE, eight episodes of the comedic micro-short series BROAD STROKES, and more. 2018 saw the release of his second feature film ABOUT STRANGERS (road series Volume I), as well as the instagram series I'VE SAID AND DONE THINGS THAT NO-ONE WILL EVER REMEMBER (over 100 episodes). In 2019, as a director Kochmer's short film OWEN will be released, and his third feature film HIM & HER  is in post-production. Kochmer also currently serves as the Head of Production for the film collective and production company We Make Movies.
